Today was to be a big long push down through Germany on the Autobahns to find more friendly terrain. After making some progress down through Germany (A fully loaded VFR will do 232kph (260 indicated)) we approached Bregenz. Only by this time Liam was well into reserve and there was no sign of any petrol stations - signs indicating a 6.5km tunnel didn't help either! We spotted a handy truck and Liam tucked in behind it, sitting a good, generous, 6" off his back bumper for the whole length. We finally made it to Bregenz on fumes and quenched our poor machines. We then found a nice little hotel in town, and after a quick snack at a road side café, retired to the bar. Here we found a highly chatty Austrian who regaled tales of the towns we must visit, purely for their sex content. The token old chap in the bar decided he needed some amusement from these odd foreigners invading his bar and took to accusing me of being Herman Munster. On this note we made our excuses and headed for bed.
